Terms of Service

Algomancer (algomancer.net) is an interview-preparation game operated by GowTom, an independent developer based in Ireland (“we”, “us”). You can reach us any time at team@gowtom.tech. By creating an account or using Algomancer you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

You sign in with a GitHub account. You must be at least 13 years old (or at least 16 where local law sets a higher age for consenting to data processing — see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for activity on your account; keep your GitHub credentials safe. You can delete your account at any time from your Account page — deletion is immediate and permanent.

You agree not to:

• disrupt or overload the service, including the code-execution and voice-interview infrastructure, or circumvent rate limits and usage quotas;
• scrape, bulk-export, or republish the problem bank or learning content;
• cheat in ranked or competitive modes (automated solving, submission replay, score manipulation);
• use the service to attack, harass, or impersonate others, or to break any law;
• resell or commercially redistribute access to the service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules. Where practical we'll warn you first.

Code, solutions, whiteboards, and messages you create remain yours. You grant us the license needed to operate the service with them — storing and running your code, showing your solutions and results where the product does so (for example leaderboards, co-solve sessions, duels, and the solutions you choose to share). We don't sell your content and we don't claim ownership of it.

Some features require a paid Premium subscription. Prices and billing intervals are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe — your card details never touch our servers.

• Renewal & cancellation. Renewing plans bill automatically each period until you cancel. Cancel any time from the billing portal (Premium page → Manage subscription); you keep access until the end of the paid period. Cancelling stops future charges.
• Refunds.We don't refund partly-used billing periods, except where the law says otherwise. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK you may withdraw within 14 days of a first purchase for a refund, less a proportionate amount for the days already elapsed. To exercise this, email us.
• Price changes.If a price changes we'll tell you in advance; the new price applies from your next billing period, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
• Promotions. Promotional codes and founding offers may carry their own stated terms and limits.
• Account deletion. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription immediately. The unused remainder of a billing period is not refunded, except where required by law.

Hints, mock interviews (text and voice), grading feedback, and similar features are generated by AI models. They can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading — treat them as practice, not professional or career advice. Voice interviews are subject to per-call time caps and daily quotas so the feature stays available to everyone.

Algomancer is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it up and fun, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, bug-free operation, or that practicing here leads to any particular interview outcome. We may add, change, or retire features; game balance (economy, energy, grades, matchmaking) may be tuned at any time.

The problems, learning content, game design, and code of the service are ours or licensed to us. Open art, audio, and software we build on is credited at /credits.

To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for claims arising from the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or €50 if you haven't paid us anything). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded — including under mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence, which these terms do not reduce.

We may update these terms as the product evolves. For meaningful changes we'll give notice in the app before they take effect; continuing to use Algomancer after that means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and disputes belong to the Irish courts — without depriving you of consumer protections or venues your local law guarantees.
